It’s surprising how little we interact with death when people nearby us are dying every day. What a thoughtful way to explore the unexpected encounter with something most of us prefer not to discuss. We pretend we will live forever because the alternative seems too terrible to bear. Kudos to you Nik for showing compassion when most would stop at curiosity or run from the discomfort of seeing death’s effect
thank you Linda. Perhaps it's my own experiences with death. There was no escaping this, the essence was inescapable. And these days, I lean toward connection and kindness first in all situations because well... it's extra needed. Thanks for taking the time to read and drop some words.~
Oh my goodness, what an awful thing to have happen, and down the hall! I'm so sorry, Nick. This is a powerful piece of writing. Good to see you earlier!
That’s a heavy story… prayers for the family, some normalcy and peace for you and your neighbors, how fragile life is and how strange the end must be 😢. Thanks for sharing.
Trying to get a dog to poop is an easy way to eavesdrop. How very true! Loved all
Your details, Nik. Wonderful descriptions. How wonderful
Of you to console that young woman. More of that please.
being kind and offering love is all we really got these days. No one can take *that* away.
